The Evaporation :
Evaporation is the changing of a liquid
into vapours (gaseous state ) from the
surface of the liquid without heating it.
Evaporation is the procedure by which water changes from a liquid(fluid) to a gas or vapor. Water boils at 212 degrees F (100 degrees C), however it really starts to evaporate at 32 degrees F (0 degrees C); it just happens very slowly. As the temperature increases, the rate of evaporation likewise increases.
Factors of Evaporation :
Temperature :
The water particles move quickly when the water is warmed. This makes the atoms escape quicker. Higher temperatures lead to increase in vaporization as more atoms get active vitality to change over into vapor. For example, boiling water vanishes quicker than fresh water.Surface Area :
If the surface area is increased (expand), then the amount of liquid that is exposed in air is larger. More molecules can escape with a wider surface area because surface area is directly proportional to evaporation . For example, We spread out clothes to dry. We do that because that speeds up the process of vaporization.
Wind :
Particles of vapor move away when the speed of wind increases. This leads to a decrease in the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere and increase the amount of evaporation . For example, we use hand dryers to dry our hands. Here the wind is expelled from the hand dryer which dries our hand.
Humidity :
Humidity means the amount of water vapor present in the air. The air around can only hold a certain amount of water vapor at a certain time and at a certain temperature. If the temperature increases and the speed of wind and humidity both stay constant, then the rate of evaporation will increase since warmer air can hold more water vapor than colder air.
Nature of The Liquid :
Liquid differ in the rate at which they evaporate. spread a few drops of ether or spirit on your palm uou feeel cold because of differ in nature.
